This is a classic craft that never loses its appeal
two paper plates
stapler
hole punch and string/wool
dried pasta, beans, sand, rocks or something like that
optional: stickers, paint, markers, construction paper, etc to decorate
Decorate outside of paper plates as desired. Kaitlyn has always loved painting paper plates!
Fill one plate about 1/4 or less of the way full of dried pasta or beans (or similar material)
Put the other plate over the first and staple around the edge (about 4 staples)
Punch holes all the way around the plates (we punched 2 holes between each set of staples to make 8 holes in total).
Lace the plates together with string or wool -- Kaitlyn laced hers all the way around in one direction and then took a second piece of wool and laced it in the other direction to make her fancy pattern -- the children can do it however they like!
Shake your tamborine!
