Fishing rod, magic wand or dancing stick

fishing rod

What You Need: 

drinking straw(s) (we used short 12cm plastic ones)
imagination/creative child(ren)
masking tape
scissors
string or yarn

What To Do: 

depending on #, ages & development of children, tasks may be completed by either children, adult or both. Ideally teach child each step & have them do as much as they can by themselves or with their peers.

-snip off a piece of string (preferably not longer than 20cm to prevent risk of strangulation)
-tie string around end of straw
-cut off tape
-wrap tape around straw/string to secure
-you could ask child(ren) what they could use it for, or listen to their ideas as they're making it ^_^, for children (past 3 years old) you could also not tell them each step & let them figure it out for themselves
