Create different 'glue roads' for the children to follow with their fingers to help develop visual motor coordination.
Large sheet of poster board or thick paper, glue that has been colored with food coloring
Mix the glue and food coloring. Slowly drizzle continuous lines of glue to draw 'roads' all over the poster board. Make some zig zaggy, loopy, and curves. Now the children can pretend their fingers are cars and drive them along the roads. This can be made more difficult by having them try to do it with their eyes closed. This is an excellent pre writing activity.
